Rococo flourished in the 1700\u2019s, enchanting the royals and the nobility in the French castles. Polier 130 calls this enchantment to mind with a neat harmony of symmetry and asymmetry, coquette curves, and an exquisite rocaille ornamentation. Rocaille, meaning clamshell, was the aesthetic common thread in Rococo style, and an expression of sensuality and elegance.
